The science council meeting on the adoption of online teaching course syllabus

At 14:00 pm on November 2, 2020, the leaders of Marine  resources management Faculty, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment had the meeting with the faculty’ Science council members on reviewing and updating training programs for BSc. students, major in management of marine resources and environment.

Attending the meeting were 7 members of the Science council of which 2 members were the Faculty’s leaders. Number of absent members are 0.

During the meeting, the faculty leaders have discussed with the Science council members seven detailed outlines of updated and new courses in the training program for teaching in the coming years.

Two recommended courses need to be updated are:

1- marine ecology (3 credits = 4,5 ECTS)

2- Modeling of the marine environment (3 credits = 4,5 ECTS)

New courses expected to be included in the curriculum in the coming years include:

3- Marine resources and environment management (3 ECTS)

4- Control of marine pollution (3 ECTS)

5- Ports and marine structures (3 ECTS)

6- River and sea interaction (3 credits = 4,5 ECTS)

7- Oceanography of fishing (3 ECTS)

These are also courses that have been proposed by the MARE project to be included in the online / face-to-face curriculum for the 3rd and 4th year students of the Faculty over the next comming years.

The Science Council of the Faculty of Marine Resources Management agreed to update the existing two courses and add 5 new courses to the elective module of the Faculty’s training program.

However, in order for these new courses to be taught, the outlines and contents of lectures need to be elaborated and submitted to the Science Council and the school for approval in the near future.
