Le Thi Kim Thoa

Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa graduated from school of Geography, major in Geoinformatics, Nottingham University, UK in 2008. She got her Master of Technology degree on Remote Sensing and GIS at Centre for Space Science and Technology,  Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehra Dun, India in 2000. In 1995, she got her bachelor of Science Geography, major in economic geography and regional development at the Department of Geography, Ho Chi Minh City General University, Vietnam. She is currently Deputy head at Faculty of Marine Resources Management, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment – HCMUNRE, Vietnam. She is also the Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Marine Science Technology and Economy Association. Before transferring to HCMUNRE, she was Director of Center for Sea and Island Studies, and Head of Economic Geography and Regional Development Devision, Department of Geography, Ho Chi Minh University of  Social Sciences and Humanities- USSH, Vietnam National University. Recently, she involves in a variety of national and international research and development projects on marine resources and environment management; Integrated coastal zone management; Application of GIS and remote sensing in natural resources and environment management; Impacts of climate change on livelihoods, socio-economy; Vulnerability assessment of climate change impacts; Climate change and sea level rise; Small islands; Economic Geography and Regional Development.
